Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Price and Specification/reviews

Samsung will unveil its next generation flagship smartphone, Galaxy S9 at Mobile World Congress next month.

The South Korean technology company mailed out its invitation to the launch event earlier this month._
_

"The Camera Reimagined the invites teases complete with large stylized number 9."

Samsung adds, "if a picture is worth a thousand words, latest member of the Galaxy family has a lot to say,

"on February 25, Samsung electronics will showcase the next generation of Galaxy devices that reimagines the camera and redefines the way you share your moments."

Samsung is clearly very proud of the photography prowess of its new handset, which is a good thing because the design of the Galaxy S9 is purportedly almost identifical to its predecessor.

VentureBeat has shared (via serial tipster (Evan Blass) what it claims are official images of the forthcoming Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

The front of both smartphones appear nearly identical to the Galxy S8 range.

If these leaked images are accurate it appears the Samsung Galaxy S9 will keep the same dual curved almost bezelss display and dedicated Bizby button.

VentureBeat, which has an impressive track record when it comes to predicting future Samsung hardware, claim the Galaxy S9 will include a 5.8 inches display while Galaxy S9+ is said to have a slightly larger 6.2 inches display.

Those are the same sizes as the Super AMOLED " Infinity" display that appeared on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ last year. And the similarities don't end there.

The Galaxy S9 is tipped to have the same 4GB of RAM and 64GB of in built storage as its predecessor.

However, VentureBeat says this will be increase to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for larger Galaxy S9+._

Samsung is tipped to make some major upgrades to the cameras on the Galaxy S9 and S9
Samsung Camera improvements purportedly include a variable aperture on the rear facing 12MP, enabling users to switch between f/2.4 and f/1.5.

According to sources speaking to VentureBeat the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will include built in AKG stereo speakers this time around.

Samsung has yet to really leverage its acquisition of Harman International the parent company behind premium audio brands like AKG,JBL and Harman/Kardon which it bought in March 2017.

According to reports, the cameras will be aligned vertically on the back of the both galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

This solves one of our biggest gripes with Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ which aligned the fingerprint scanner horizontally with the lens.

Both Galaxy S9 models are widely tipped to keep the 3.5mm headphone port something previously rumoured to have been ditched in favour of USB C headphones.

Pakistan No.1 T20I Ranking series win against New Zealand

 _
_
Finally some respite for the Pakistani fans as Sarfraz XI clinch the T20 series by 2-1 after complete performance in the series decider also reclaiming their number one spot in ICC Rankings.
Another amazing performance from Pakistan both with bat and didn't let the Kiwis bag another series. First a classy finish with the bat and then the bowlers bowled well, Pakistan overpowered Williamson XI by 18 runs in the final clash of the series. The shouts of Pakistan Zindabad were finally loud when Pakistan completed their series victory after a shameful results in ODIs.

Toss and Pitch:

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first on a pitch which looked to offer plenty of runs on a relatively bigger field in Mount Mounganui.
Pakistan had to leave out Hassan Ali due to injury while New Zealand made four changes bringing in Anaru Kitchen, Ross Taylor, Tom Blundel and Tim Southee.

First Innings:

Openers Ahmad Shahzad and Fakhar Zaman once again looked like providing the same start as they did in the previous game however despite some brilliant strockes Ahmad got frustrated and lost this wicket in a silly manner, looking to scoop in past the third man.
Babar Azam continued from where he left off at Eden Park, adding 36 runs in a partnership with Fakhar Zaman before ge fell to Ish Sodhi trying to cut the ball. Sarfraz move to bat up the order at number 4 which kept up in the last game worked well this time also well.
Fakhar and Sarfraz kept up with the scoring rate before Fakhar holed out to deep cover. It was a conrosial catch but the soft signal ruling by the on field umpire made sure he didn't get the benefit of the doubt. Sarfraz scored 29 before Santner sent him back to the pavilion.
The left handed duo of Haris Sohail and Umar Amin played very well, with Umar smashing three sixes for his 21 just 7 balls. A late charge from Pakistan helped them score 109 in the last 10 overs, finishing at a very challenging 181-6.
Mitchel Santner ended up with figures of 2-24 in his 4 overs while Sodhi also took 2 conceding 47runs. The Kiwis were poor in the field dropping a few catches despite their reputation for being an impeccable fielding unit.

Second Innings:

Chasing 182 runs New Zealand were cautious from the start, thanks to some tight bowling from Pakistan opening bowlers. Williamson was not allowed to score freely which ultimately led to his downfall.
Kitchen and Guptill took the chanllenge of upping the ante smashing the bowlers around the vast field.
A double strike from Shadab removing Guptill and Kitchen dented the hosts prospects of chasing down the target. Guptill got out after a fiery half century which included 4 sixes and 2 fours.
With 87/3 New Zealand were hoping for carnage from d Grandhomme but Aamer Yamin had down other plans, rattling the stumps of the explosive all rounder._
_
At 4-89 New Zealand were reeling relying heavily on their most experienced player Ross Taylor. Having hit three sixes in just 10balls Taylor looked like taking the game closer than expected but the experience of Muhammad Amir won the battle against Taylor Thanks to a surprising review from Captain Sarfraz and bowler. The original decision of not out was reversed judging the player caught behind.
Tom Bruce got cleaned up soon after. from there onward it was an uphill task for the lower order of the hosts who ultimately fell short of the target by 18 runs.
Muhammad Amir, Aamer Yamin and Shadab Khan were outstanding restricting the flow of boundaries and getting wickets to tie down the hosts.

Awards:

Shadab Khan away with Man of the Match award while Muhammad Amir was judged the Man of the Series.

Sony Xperia XA2 review

Introduction:

Sony may be looking beyond smartphones but the Xperia line is still standing its ground. The recently unveiled Xperia XA2 series is not only a statment of persistence but also shows intent for expansion. And the Xperia XA2 bodes well for Sony's new generation of smartphones this season.

_
_
It improves on prety much everything the Xperia XA1 had. The XA2 puts a large screen of higher resolution in a more compact body with less bezels. The whole thing is powered by a modern and efficient snapdragon 630 chipset and 4K videos is added to the bill courtesy of the same 23 MP sensor. Battery capacity has been increased and there is a brand new rear mounted fingerprint sensor available to all models including US bound. Now ain't that finally something?
Those are good enough reasons to look forward to the ultra line but also feel upbeat about the new bunch of Xperias that will come our way in the following months. Here goes the promising XA2 at a glance.

 Sony Xperia XA2 specifications:

  • Body: Aluminum frame, polycarbonate back, silver, black blue and pink color screens.
  • Display: 5.2" 1920x1080 LCS 434ppi pixel density.
  • Rear Camera: 23MP 1/2.3" sensor size, f/2.0 aperture, 25mm equiv focal length. Hybrid PD contrast auto focus 2160p/30fps video recording.
  • Front Camera: 8MP 120 degree field of view fixed focus 1080p/30 video recording.
  • OS: Android 8.0 Oreo
  • Chipset: Snapdragon 630 octa core 2.2 GHz cortex-A53 Adreno 508 GPU.
  • Memory: 3GB of RAM 32GB hybrid microSD slot for expansion.
  • Battery: 3300 mAh quick and fast charging 3.0.
  • Connectivity: Single/Dual SIM LTE Cat 12/13 (600Mbps download0 USB C Wifi a/b/g/n, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 5, FM radio.
  • Misc: Rear mounted fingerprint reader single speaker on the bottom 3.5mm jack two stage hardware camera shutter release key._
    _
While the Xperia XA 2 Ultra has received a very generous selfie rig upgrade Sony chose to re use same 8MP wide angle sensor from the XA1 over in the XA2. It now sits behind a darker f/2.4 lens though and there is no auto focus to be found. But we have yet look closer at what called for this change.

Sony Xperia XA2 Unboxing:

The retail box hasn't got much besides the phone itself. You won't get any headphones or a case just a regular USB Type C cable and a garden variety 1.5A charger. We guess that's what mid range Xperia's are going to be like attractive specs but a rather basic bundle.

Hajj lucky draw postponed

Hours before the government was due to announce the names of selected in the annual Hajj lucky draw, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) on Friday announced that it has delayed the draw indefinitely in keeping with a stay order issued by the Sindh Hight Court.

A day earlier the Sindh High Court (SHC) Sukkur bench had ordered a stay on the lucky draw while hearing a petition field by Mufti Abdul Majid. The petition had declared that the new Hajj policy, which prevents individuals from performing the pilgrimage more than once within a stipulated period of time, is against the Shariah.

The decision to indefinitely postponed the lucky draw which was due to be held at 04pm today was made during a meeting of officials from the ministry. The officials decided to appeal the SHC's stay order before the Supreme Court before setting another date for the lucky draw.

While many pilgrims from Pakistan avail the services of private companies to look after their travel and stay in Saudi Arabia, thousands apply for the annual government scheme that entails a lucky draw.

Vivo World's first Phone with an underscreen Fingureprints Sensor

Vivo may have unveiled the world's first smartphone with a fingerprint scanner in the display last year, but it is only now that it is making the phone official.
Called Vivo X20 Plus UD the new phone has a synaptic s build clear ID 9500 sensor towards the bottom of the Amoled display, which means that you get a bezelless display without sacrificing a finger print sensor on the front which is where most of us prefer it.

Design and Display:

The display comes with a 6.43 inches AMOLED panel with full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio.
The fingerprint scanner is arguably its biggest feature and despite the display layer it is said to be just as fast as other sensors. It can register data from a thickness of 1.5mm meaning your screen protector ideally needs to be thinner that that.
The phone is only available in Black.

Internals and Storage:

Under the hood you get a mid range Snapdragon 660 processor with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Even with 128 GB of storage ViVO has included a hybrid microSD/SIM card slot for even more capacity.
Unfortunately for a phone that aims to stand out it still runs ageing Android 7.1 Nougat.

Camera(s):

At the back are dual cameras with 12 MP+5MP sensors on the back with the highers sensor coming with a f/1.8 apertue. The front camera also comes with 12 MP sensor with f/2.0.

Battery:

  • The battery under hood is 3905mAh cell with fast charging support.
  • Preorders will start in China from February1st
  • The smartphone is available in China come the month of February for a price tag of 3698RMB or Rs. 63,000. That's the amount you pay for less intrusive design.

Vivo X20 plus UD specifications:

  • CPU: 1.8 GHz quad core + 2.2 GHz quad core.
  • GPU: Adreno 512.
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 660

Samsung Galaxy S9’s Box Leak Reveals Surprising New Features/Reviews

Samsung newest flagship phone in coming next month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) but the leaks show no signs of stopping. The latest was a retail of the Galaxy S9 with some interesting new details mentioned specifications, Here's the image of box.

The box pretty much confirms the rumored specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9.
What the rumors didn't to was the inclusion of stereo speakers and a camera with variable apertue.
It mentions f/1.5 and f2.4 for the Dual Pixel 12 MP camera, similar to the China exclusive W2018 phone which had f/1.5 aperture. No smartphone has implemented a variable aperture to date , which should make Samsung implementation all the more interesting.

Another thing mentioned here are the Super Slow-mo videos ehich could mean something similar to Sony's 960 fps motion eyes camera on the XZ series.

Stereo speakers are also making a comeback, if the specs on the box are correct. Leaked renders of the galaxy S9 show even slimmer bezels than before, however Samsung is likely to use the earpiece as the second speaker to keep the bezels samll.

Other specification include a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED QHD+ (2960x1440) resolution display. It will be powered by Exynos 9810 or Snapdragon 845, with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.
It will have an 8MP front camera as well as wireless charging support. IP 68 water and dust resistance is also making its way to the S9 in addition to bundled AKG earphones in the box.

COMING IN NEXT MONTH:

With the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) ending, tech fans are looking forward to the next big tech event: the Mobile World Congress (MWC). As the name implies, the MWC is where smartphone companies show off their latest and greatest products.
 _
At the CES, samsung CEO DJ Koh announced that the Galaxy S9 will be revealed next month at the MWC. Last years S8 was revealed at the "Galaxy Unpacked" event organized by Samsung, however this time around the next iteration of the Galaxy S series will be showcase at MWC.

pk Domain Users Recieve Virus in Emails; PKNIC Alerts

The digital World with all its charms and funny cat videos is also filled with people who just want to rip you off by stealing your personal information. PKNIC the .pk domain registry in Pakistan has issued a security warning to all its users to put them on alert about fake email carrying harmful malware virus attachments.

As you can see in the image above PKNIC warns that email account like accounts@pknic.net.pk or staff@pknic.net.pk may try to send attachments to the users which may prove to be a security risk. What is interesting about these fake emails is the fact that their domain is the same as that of the original domain registry organization in Pakistan i.e. @pknic.net.pk. The email scam can be prety convicing because of the email address and thus can trick anyone into downloading or opening any attachment.

The organization has thus made it clear to its users that it never sends any attachments unless they have had prior arrangements.
 _

In 2003 PKNIC was hacked twice where where a group of hackers defaced several websites carrying .pk domain including those of Pakistan's famous newspapers.

Last year FBR also had to issue a warning when Pakistan taxpayers started receiving emails that ended up infecting their computers
