After Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement of ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Program’, the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued the registration forms for the housing project.
The pilot project has kick-started in seven districts including Islamabad, Faisalabad, Sukkur, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad and Swat. NADRA has been tasked to gather data for the housing needs of the people.
A Flagship Project:
PM Imran Khan, several times during his election
campaign and after assuming the office, announced to build as many as 5
million low-cost houses and create 10 million jobs across five years of
his term. The project which seems nearly impossible was ‘one of his
ambitions for the people of the country.
During the third week in power, the PM constituted a
task force and urged it to come up with suggestions within a week. After
the finalization of the procedure, the government has launched the
first phase of the housing program.
According to the details, the government is
responsible to provide the required land for the project and play the
role of a regulator and facilitator throughout. The government will
address all the hurdles and will ensure a suitable environment for
public and private sectors and non-profit organizations to execute the
project seamlessly.
Provision of 6 Million Jobs:
PM Khan believes that the successful completion of the project will also create millions of jobs.
In his Twitter post on Thursday, country’s premier said the project will provide as many as 6 million jobs and create demand in 40 industries directly involved in house building & attract FDI.
Who Can Apply for Naya Pakistan Housing Program?
- The eligibility criteria of the project allows only one person per family (husband, wife and children) to apply in this scheme.
- Candidates who do not own any independent residential unit in Pakistan will have the privilege.
- Homes are for the common man with monthly income around Rs10,000-25,000.
- Candidates will deposit PKR 250 along with this registration form.
- The housing authority will decide the housing specification including design, price and site for the applicants based on the data provided in the forms.
How to Apply for Naya Pakistan Housing Program?
The registration forms are now available on NADRA’s website
and can be downloaded from there. The applicants can submit the form at
the selected district offices within two months (from October 22 to
December 21) along with registration fee of Rs 250. List of the offices
is given below.

SUKKUR: DC Office, Sukkur
GILGIT: DC Office, Gilgit
MUZAFFARABAD: DC Office old secretariat, Muzaffarabad
