APPLE has pushed out a new update to its hugely popular IOS operating System that patches a vulnerability that could enable hackers to take over your smartphone via Wi-FI.
iPHONE owners should update their smartphone as soon as possible.
Apple has rolled out a new operating system update IOS 10.3.3 that patches a number of vulnerabilities in the software, including some that could remote update execution on the device.
This would allow a hacker to take control of your IPHONE, thanks to bug in the broacom WIFI chip.
Hackers would have complete control over the devioce allowing them to access your data and features remotely.
Dobbed CVE 2017-1947 the bug was first published in an Android security bulletin.
It is also expected to be the main talking point of a BlackHat cybersecurity conference later this month.
The bug appears to affect Broadcom's BCM4354, 4358 and 4359 chips.
These chips are used in a swathe pf popular smartphone including handsets from HTC, LG, Google Samsung and Apple.

Google has also patched the vulnerability, although Android smartphone owners will have to wait for their device manufacturer and mobile carrier sign off and roll out the update.
This typically means it takes a little longer for security patches to trickle down to end user. Meanwhile , IOS 10.3.3 is available to all iPHONE and iPAD owners.
According to Apple 10.3.3 includes bug fixes and improves the security of your iPHONE or iPAD.
To update your device, navigate to Setting>General>Software Update.
The new emojis include a women with headscarf, a bearded and a women seen breastfeeding, plus there's updated food items such as a sandwich and coconut.
More animals and mythical creatures like T-Ray, Zebra, Zombie and Elf are also coming soon along with a news star stuck and exploding head smiley faces.
